In front of the magnificent backdrop of the Dyck Palace, an old castle set in a lake, the vintage cars are shown off to great advantage.
Anyone who has ever attended a vintage car rally knows the faithfully restored cars have been polished until they gleam and will attract many admiring looks. In 2014, 6,000 cars came to the Classic Days held in the park surrounding Dyck Palace on the lower Rhine. As a gold sponsor of the Classic Days, Standox once again demonstrated its prowess in refinishing and restoring historic vehicles. The paint brand from Wuppertal has, over many years, built up extensive colour records, which by now contain detailed information on the paint of more than 40 car brands worldwide. Blu-chiaro metallic on an Alfa Romeo from 1967 is listed with colour samples and reference numbers as is the Magnolia on a Skoda built in 1965. At the Classic Days event, Standox helped owners of vintage cars to identify the colour of their vintage treasure with the help of a spectrophotometer.
Standox has been a sponsor of the Classic Days for years and, amongst other things, offers car owners free colour measurements.
Finding the right, original colour when restoring vintage cars is a challenge. A further complication is that it is often not permitted to use the same paint technology as the original due to environmental legislation. And many of the colours are simply unobtainable. An experienced, well-trained refinisher can identify the precise colour shade needed for repairs with the help of the Genius iQ spectrophotometer. This makes it possible to achieve a repair with modern paint technology that is faithful to the original colour, even if that technology has markedly changed in the intervening decades. If required, it is even possible to recreate the particular patina of weathered surfaces with the help of matt paints and special polishing techniques. Standox provides modern and efficient paint systems that are ideally suited to the refinishing of classic cars.
In order to help Standox bodyshops publicise their competences as classic car partners, Standox has developed the Classic Color Partner concept. It comprises a range of tools for bodyshops to attract the attention of of vintage car owners. This range includes a number of supporting collateral from a Classic Color Partner logo in different file formats to door signs, banners, displays, flags and professional advertising templates.
