The 10th annual Classic Days took place at Schloss Dyck – one of the most important moated castles in Germany - from 31 July to 2 August 2015. Standox, the Wuppertal-based global refinish paint brand, is an active supporter of this classic car event. Tens of thousands of car enthusiasts came to the Lower Rhineland area to admire the picturesque scenery of the Baroque castle and the classic cars, and to exchange ideas with like-minded people.
As in previous years, visitors had the opportunity to admire rare classic legends, including a 1938 Mercedes-Benz, a 1907 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost and a huge Bugatti Royale from 1931. The most lasting impression for visitors was more than likely Il Drago Ruggente, a 1924 Italian racing car, which means roaring dragon. As soon as the 12-cylinder engine with its 27 liters capacity was started, the noise resounded throughout the entire event.
Standox, an official partner to Classic Days, supports its bodyshops with classic car restoration through its Classic Color Partner programme. And in line with this, the brand invited visitors to the castle to meet with Standox experts to discuss their own experiences in classic car restoration. And the invitation was very well received. "We had several hundred visitors over the two days," says Lutz Poncelet, Business Director for Standox in Germany.
