The arrival of the Trabant!

From 1990 onwards a car appeared on Western European streets that many had only ever heard of – the Trabant. This quaint vehicle built in Zwickau, East Germany, was given the lovely nickname Cardboard Racer (Rennpappe in German) thanks to its synthetic chassis. It still has a cult following today.
