With the introduction of the new Standocryl VOC-Xtreme Clear K9580, Standox is entering into a new dimension of fast drying clear coats. Due to its unique and innovative binder technology, this clear dries in just five minutes at 60°C and still produces an exceptional finish.
“There is currently no other clear coat that dries as quickly and achieves comparable results,” says John Nettleton, Product and Colour Manager. “Top coat hold-out is impressive with extraordinary gloss, extreme hardness and a very good depth. Customers who have tested the new clear in seven countries are very enthusiastic,” he adds.
Customers have the choice between two special hardeners, depending on a bodyshop’s individual drying processes. The Standox Hardener VOC-Xtreme supports faster, high-temperature drying, subject to the spray booth’s heating system. With the Standox Hardener VOC-Xtreme Air, the new clear will dry at a temperature of 20°C in less than an hour. This option avoids heating the spray booth and makes the new clear extremely energy efficient without impacting the quality of their results.
And even when air-drying, Standocryl VOC-Xtreme Clear sets new standards. It is ready for polishing after only 90 minutes. The surface flow is even and it becomes extremely hard with a lasting, brilliant gloss.
“Our new clear coat technology will revolutionise bodyshop processes and offers our partners another means to address one of the demanding challenges this industry faces: the ever-rising energy costs,” Nettleton says. “Due to the clear coat’s extremely rapid air drying times, bodyshops not only benefit their own business bottom line, but also act responsibly in relation to energy consumption. And thanks to the reliable high quality offered by Standox they do so with perfect results.”
