Axalta Coating Systems, parent company of Standox, was recently presented with an Appreciation Award at GM Holden’s Supplier Appreciation Awards night held on Wednesday, 11 October 2017 at the Holden Vehicle Operation in Elizabeth, Adelaide. The award signified Holden’s appreciation of Axalta’s contribution towards its manufacturing heritage in Australia, as they embark on a new chapter in the company’s history with the roll off of the last car on the production line, a red Holden Commodore.
Since 2009, Axalta has worked with GM Holden, bringing sustainable coating solutions to Holden through their E-coat range. In recognition of this service, Deborah Cockburn, on behalf of Axalta, was presented with the unique trophy memento from Holden.
The trophy was once a HFV6 engine piston saved from the final production run in GM Holden’s engine operation plant and includes a stainless steel frame featuring silhouettes of the 48/215 FX Holden and VFII Commodore, plus a VFII Commodore wheel centre from the final MY17 build.
